Day 1: Arrival Madaba

Upon arrival, be met an airport representative as soon as you disembark and assisted through immigration formalities (Visa on Arrival included with compliments), then be met by your guide after exiting arrivals, be met and drive to Madaba, check in to your hotel and have the rest of the evening at leisure to rest.

Day 2: Madaba / Dana / Feynan

Early morning, drive approx. 3h to Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan’s largest nature reserve.

Start from the Dana Guesthouse at 1200m above sea level and adventure down through the beautiful Dana Biosphere Reserve to Feynan at 325 m. Cross paths and exchange warm greetings with local Bedouin tending their goats. Experience the 4 different biogeological zones of Dana and keep an eye out for the many rare forms of flora and fauna to be found here such as the Nubian ibex.

Upon arrival at Feynan Lodge you could either choose to relax and rest or there are further gentle trails in this area if you still havethe energy.

Deep in the heart of the mountainous Dana Biosphere Reserve, at the end of a rugged track, an idyllic candle-lit lodge rests in the magnificent Wadi Feynan. Hailed as one of the best 25 ecolodges in the world by National Geographic Traveler Magazine, the award-winning, solar powered Feynan Ecolodge offers the most developed eco-experience in Jordan. Here, set against the glorious

desert landscape, guests staying at the 26-room lodge can be found adventuring through the untouched outdoors, sipping sweet tea with the native Bedouin, exploring local archaeological sites or simply unwinding in the serene courtyards and terraces of the candle-lit complex, safe in the knowledge that their travels in Jordan are socially and environmentally responsible.

After dinner, enjoy some Stargazing (approx. 1h, 2000-2100h). After night has fallen and the valley has settled into quiet, ascend candlelit stairs to a rooftop terrace laden with mattresses where you can stretch out and sip hot tea as you gaze upwards at the Milky Way in its uninhibited glory. With no other sources of light, the sky becomes a vast dome of black velvet lit only by thousands of

twinkling stars and planets with occasional shooting stars burning their tails into the night sky. Kick your stargazing experience up a notch and test out a powerful 10-inch Mead telescope to get incredible views of Saturn’s ring, or Jupiter’s moons. Allow your guides to navigate you through the dark skies as their Bedouin fathers once used the stars to navigate through the deserts.

Day 3: Feynan / Little Petra

We leave Wadi Feynan through the historic landscape around Feynan, where copper has been mined for some 3000 years. Mining reached its peak under the Romans, when thousands of slaves died here working the mines and furnaces, and millions of tons of ore were smelted into a metal that was exported all over the empire.. Approaching Little Petra there are signs of increasing human habitation of Bedouin camps, sheep pens, and small agricultural plots. We enter a small sandstone canyon and wind our way through to the site of Beihdah overnight Little Petra.

Day 4: Little Petra / Petra

Today, see a different side to Jordan’s most popular attraction, following winding back roads and worn rock-cut staircases to rarely-visited monuments and panoramic vistas.

Enter Petra via ‘The Back Door’! Good tracks go pleasantly down Wadi Ghurab amidst sandstone mountains guarding the approaches to Petra. This way follows a Nabataean route out of the valley and skirting round the final mountain on a natural rock terrace which has been ‘improved’ by the PAP (Petra Archaeological Park) for the safety of walkers. Even so, it still narrows slightly before reaching a hidden plateau high above the impressive chasm of Wadi Siyyagh. Just beyond, carved into the cliff face, ‘The Monastery’ suddenly comes into view. Nabataean steps then lead down into ancient Petra, through which the route goes before

exiting past ‘The Treasury’ and though the famous ‘Petra Siq’.

Day 5: Petra / Shobak / Wadi Rum

After a leisurely breakfast and morning, drive (approx. 2h) to the desert of Wadi Rum, the wild desert landscape, which fascinated the British liaison officer Lawrence of Arabia.

take a short detour to Shobak Castle ruins, much less restored than Karak, though no less impressive! Perched in a wild, remote landscape, Shobak Castle wins over even the most castle-weary visitor, despite being less complete than its sister fortification at Karak.

Enjoy a 2-hour 4-wheel jeep drive through the desert to see Lawrence’s Spring. Pass the majestic mountains and explore a gorge with some ancient rock drawings. Enjoy the silence of this awesome desert with some easy hikes.

Tonight, you will spend an unforgettable night in a remote and secluded camp under a blanket of stars which includes a traditional Bedouin dinner.

Day 6: Wadi Rum / Wadi Mujib / Dead Sea

Start your morning after leaving Wadi Rum , visiting the siq trail starts at Mujib Adventure Center where you will take the cantilevered walkway and follow the course of the river between the towering sandstone cliffs to the base of a large waterfall. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, the gorge may contain pools deep enough for swimming. This is an idea walk to take slowly and enjoy the cool water and shade, especially in the heat of summer.
This activity is only available during the summer; depending on weather conditions. Please contact us to see if the activity is available.  Continue the drive to your Dead Sea resort in the afternoon and have the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, or choose from the many spa treatments (not included) on offer.

Day 7: Dead Sea / Departure

Have the morning to enjoy the resort facilities at leisure. Continue to Queen Alia International Airport and check in for your flight home.
